Chef David Nayfeld, formerly the sous chef at Eleven Madison Park in New York, is heading to downtown Los Angeles to helm the kitchen at an unnamed project that is expected to open in late summer of 2013. On June 4, Nayfeld will team up with chef Michael Voltaggio at Ink to introduce himself to the culinary insides of L.A.

According to LAist, chef Nayfeld is heading west and landing in the up and coming downtown Los Angeles area this summer. After partnering with Cardiff Giant, the hospitality group behind Churchill, the Hudson and Clover Juice, Nayfeld will be opening a new restaurant, though additional details have not yet been released.

To introduce himself to LA foodies, Nayfeld will be collaborating with chef Michael Voltaggio on June 4 at Voltaggio’s Ink to cook three courses each for $125, with an optional beverage pairing for an additional $75. The dinner will take place from 6 – 11 p.m. at Ink on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.

The LA Times reports that Nayfeld is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of American and has work in numerous top-notch restaurants in San Francisco, Las Vegas, and New York. He most recently worked at Eleven Madison Park, which has three Michelin stars and six James Beard awards. He has also worked in Switzerland, Spain and France.
