Roy and Lea Black’s star-studded charity event, The Blacks’ Annual Gala, returned for its 19th year this past weekend, with red carpet arrivals followed by a Grey Goose Vodka cocktail reception, gourmet dinner and silent and live auctions. The gala, which benefits The Consequences Charity and their programs with Teach for America, Breakthrough Miami and Big Dreams for kids, successfully raised more than $12 million.
The live and silent auction items included Jeffrey Rackover jewelry, a walk-on role in an upcoming Michael Bay movie, a one-year lease on an all-new 2013 Range Rover, a Hublot Watch donated by Rick & Martha de la Croix and many more. Guests also enjoyed performances by Flo Rida and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, followed by the beats of DJ Trouble and Whi5ker5 with the Illbots.
“This year’s gala was one of our best,” said Lea Black. “The performances were over the top. We are very grateful to the guests for their support of a cause that benefits so many teens that have so little.”
Celebrity guests in attendance included Gabrielle Anwar, Lance Bass, Helio Castroneves, Jonathan Cheban, Bernard Hopkins, Lisa & Lenny Hochstein, Joanna Krupa & Romain Zago, Karent Sierra, Sammy Sosa, Inés Rivero, Dennis Rodman and Sofia Milos.
