What’s On My Desk: The Four Seasons Los Angeles’ General Manager Mehdi Eftekari

IMG_5151Ever wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.

This week we’ve featured Mehdi Eftekari, the General Manager of the Four Seasons Los Angeles. The Iranian-born Eftekari has been with the Four Seasons group since 1988, working at its Newport Beach property before heading to Beverly Hills. Eftekari has made a career of weaving his way into the fabric of the community while earning the trust and friendship of his hotel guests – including no small number of Oscar contenders. “A general manager’s job is a lot like a mayor’s,” he says. “People trust your opinions and ask your recommendations. In a celebrity-driven town, that means fulfilling some pretty amazing dreams.” Here is a peek at the items on Mehdi Eftekari’s desk:

1) Daily report of all guests arriving with details and guest history and preferences, along with daily events, etc – his bible of the day!

2) Report on our iPads with ICE technology in all 285 guestrooms, outlining which services are most popular, such as particular dishes from room service, which newspapers people are viewing online, most common housekeeping requests, etc.

3) Photo of his beautiful daughters Roya and Leila, and his partner Jolene

4) Cartier clock

5) Tiffany & Co crystal golf figure of a flag hole.
