On March 20, fashion designer Julian Chang showcased his new collection during the 15th annual Miami Beach International Fashion Week. He also won the Humanitarian Award on the event’s opening night and joined a number of top designers who presented their collections to South Florida fashionistas and industry insiders.

Chang’s timeless and classic designs come together seamlessly in his new line that includes minimalist black and white with splashes of magenta and royal blues. During the Miami Beach International Fashion Week, which took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Chang joined more than 60 designers who presented their exclusive designs and over 100 celebrity guests, according to a press release. On opening night, Chang was awarded the Humanitarian Award.

Chang said of his new line, “The collection was inspired by a French girl who moved to Miami, she wants to continue with her glamour and own fashion but at the same time she is been influenced by the sexiness of Miami.”

Chang has been awarded numerous accolades during his career, including Florida International’s Designer Star Winner, Vogue En Espanol’s ‘Designer’s Choice Award’, Cadillac Luxury Lifestyle Award, Women’s Wear Daily’s Up and Coming Ready-to-Wear Designer to Watch award, Gen Art Fresh Faces Award and many more. He has also received the Key to the City of Miami Beach.

Miami Beach International Fashion Week took place from March 20-23.
