As you’ve probably noticed, these days when you go to make a reservation for a restaurant you have to go through Open Table. It’s the way of the world it seems now, and it’s actually a good tool for us dining patrons. It’s a centralized site where you can make reservations and also review the restaurant when you’re done. I like the idea of people reviewing places online because I feel people usually on do it when they either have a truly great experience or a horrible one, so if a restaurant has amazing reviews I trust it’s a least worth a try.
Open Table restaurants pride themselves on providing great dining experiences and the site keeps track of the reviews. They take the reviews and use them to identify the top restaurants. They have just released the 2013 Diner’s Choice winners for the restaurants with the best service, out of all the restaurants to choose from nationwide they only choose the top 100. Chicago has five restaurants on that list. And that’s not all; there is also a list of the top 100 “Hottest Restaurants,” which highlights “hip restaurants, celebrity chefs and avant-garde restaurateurs. Chicago has 11 spots on this list. Keep in mind just how impressive this accomplishment is, they compiled this list using more than 5 million reviews for more than 15, 000 restaurants. I have listed all the restaurants below under the appropriate category with the addresses and other info so you can give them a chance and see if they’re worth the hype.
