On March 19, the Serge Sorokko Gallery Hosted a VIP Cocktail Reception to welcome prominent Belgian artist and sculptor, Countess Isabelle de Borchgrave.

Her new exhibition entitled Isabelle de Borchgrave: New Paintings and Sculptures showcases over 25 new works on canvas, paper and in bronze, marking the first time de Borchgrave’s bronzes are being displayed in the United States.

de Borchgrave’s lastest exhibition is a stunning display of her mastery over various media. Her meticulous craftsmanship is most evident in Delphos Dresses, which are constructed so intricately that they appear to have the life of fabric – it is difficult for one to believe that are made from paper.

“Her unique imagination and use of unconventional materials allow her to produce stunning effects of scintillating color, shape, and texture that set her apart from other contemporary artists,” said gallery owner Serge Sorokko.

The remarkable Isabelle de Borchgrave: New Paintings and Sculptures is on display from March 20 through April 20, 2013.
