Jimmy’s to Host Benefit for Response on Valentine’s Day

Instead of giving love to one person on Valentine’s Day, Jimmy’s An American Restaurant and Bar is showing love for many by hosting one of hundreds of parties around the world to help raise awareness for victims of domestic abuse. One out of three women is a victim of domestic or sexual abuse, and an international organization called One Billion Rising wants to bring attention to the cause and empower women.

Locally, the event will benefit Response, a Roaring Fork Valley nonprofit which supports victims of sexual and domestic abuse. It’s hoping to raise funds to offset potential funding cuts this year.

The party starts at 10 p.m. on Thursday featuring DJ Mayfly. There is a $20 door charge that will be donated to Response and the price includes a cocktail. There is also a $100 prix-fixe menu in the dining room starting at 5:30 p.m., with $50 going to Response, and a $30 bar menu option, which includes a drink ticket and door fee. Half of that will be donated to Response. Visit One Billion Rising or Response
