Co-owned by Good Fellas and The Sopranos actor Frank Pellegrino, Rao’s is a popular New York City and Vegas that is known for award-winning Southern Neapolitan Italian cuisine. Rao’s Restaurant Group has just announced the opening of a location in Hollywood, at 1006 Seward St., in the site of The Hollywood Canteen.
According to a press release, the Rao’s partners are targeting a “late/early summer debut,” in Hollywood.
We’ve had our eye on California for quite some time and think opening a Rao’s in Hollywood is a natural progression for our family,” said Pellegrino. “The people of Southern California represent a large portion of our guests in Las Vegas, and many have become good friends of ours. We can’t wait to have a Rao’s in their backyard to call home.”
The new Rao’s location will offer dinner service, six days a week, “offering a variety of traditional Rao’s classics such as the legendary meatballs and lemon chicken, combined with more contemporary dishes created specifically for this location.”
The restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, with space for approximately 95 guests in all. Additional information regarding the chosen executive chef, menu and operating hours will be announced shortly.
Rao’s first opened it’s doors in 1896 in East Harlem, New York.
