After being absent for more than a month due to chicken pox and a concussion, Barbara Walters will resume her daytime hosting duties on “The View” next week.
The 83-year-old journalist called in to the show on Tuesday to share the happy news with her co-hosts and fans. “Like it or not, I’m coming back on the show again,” she said.
Walters was hospitalized last month after she fell on a step at the residence of Britain’s ambassador to the United States, Peter Westmacott. She was also diagnosed with chicken pox and told to rest. “No more chicken pox … I haven’t been contagious for a while, but [doctors] wanted me to have rest, and I’ve had enough rest and I’m ready to come back,” she continued.
