Aspen is as famous for its nightlife as it is for its skiing. Around town, the motto is “last call, first chair,” so there’s no shortage when it comes to finding a place to party late-night.
Named after the drug czar, Escobar occupies the subterranean airplane fuselage that once housed Fly. If you can get past the red rope on the Hyman Avenue mall, table service and a pulsing dancing floor await downstairs. But if apres-ski drinks are more your style, check out the outside ice bar in the afternoon.
2 Regal Aspen
White couches, textured walls and chandelier-reflected lighting make this expansive underground club a hit seven nights a week. With two bars and a huge booths for bottle service, there's no reason to wait for drinks. DJs spin every night of the week, and on Wednesdays the ladies are the star of the show with free drinks from 9 to 11 p.m.
This four-bar complex made up of the Cigar Bar, Su Casa, Eric's and Aspen Billiards is where all evenings out in Aspen eventually lead. Sample from the custom cedar humidor while sipping from top-shelf liquors in the Cigar Bar before heading down to Eric's to down single-malt scotches, small-batch bourbon and 14 beers on tap.
4 Belly Up
Aspen's hottest live music is also one of the best stops on the partying circuit. From $10 electronic shows on the weekends to big-ticket names like CeeLo Green, Chris Cornell and B.B. King, the intimate venue has two bars, VIP tables and access so close to the bands and DJs that you can feel their sweat.
5 Casa Tua
Sister to the Casa Tua Miami, this alpine retreat is home to a ground-level restaurant and private second-story club, which opens to a balcony with sweeping views of Aspen Mountain. On the weekends, DJs spin lounge-y tunes that match the contemporary art and photography shows which rotate throughout the year.
