Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes West Creates Obama’s Inauguration Cake

The Baltimore baker has always been known for the Food Network show “Ace of Cakes. Well, recently Duff Goldman has made his way to the West Coast by opening an outpost named Charm City Cakes West and Cake Mix, a DIY cake decorating shop.

However, these are not the only advancements in his career as a baker that Goldman has had the opportunity to enjoy. He has had the honor of crafting a cake for one of the inauguration celebrations, which is a tremendous moment for the Baltimore baker. In honor of military service members, Goldman and his crew baked tons of sweets for the Commander-in-Chief Ball.

This was indeed a wonderful surprise for Sasha and Malia who love the show. The six-tiered confection featured emblems of each U.S. military branch, the presidential seal, plenty of stars and stripes, with red-white-and-blue fondant, along with Charm City West’s cake mix  flavors that included, pineapple coconut, lemon poppy seed, pumpkin chocolate chip and red velvet with layered Swiss butter cream.

“The cake design is just the right balance of respect and celebration and we couldn’t be more excited to honor our President and our countries’ men and women in uniform,” said Goldman.
