2013 Chicago Auto Show

It’s about three more weeks until the 2013 Chicago Auto Show (February 9 – 18, 2013) and that’s always an exciting time for Chicago. Held at the McCormick Place (2301 South Lake Shore Drive), the Chicago Auto Show is the nation’s largest and longest running Auto Show. This year marks the 105th edition of the show, an impressive number indeed when you factor in the economic ups and downs of the last century. No matter the hardships, the Chicago Auto Show has proven to be resilient.

The Chicago Auto Show takes up an astounding 1 million square feet of the McCormick Place, and it will be covered in wall-to-wall cars (around 1,000 different vehicles will be on display). Aside from the normal cars, attendees will have access to several auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles and antique cars. Attendees should also be on the lookout for the special appearances and events each day.

For those interested in the charitable aspect of the event, the First Look For Charity is one of Chicago’s greatest one-day fundraisers with an average of $2 million raised for 18 local nonprofit organizations. This upscale event is a black-tie (tuxedo is mandatory) gala that allows guest an extravagant experience that’s not present during the regular show. You will be treated to champagne, wine, hors d’oeuvres and desserts while being able to explore the event before everyone else. There is also a chance to win a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2013 Buick Encore. Tickets for the First Look for Charity are $250 each, to get tickets or learn more about the Chicago Auto Show click here.
