Nominated for four Golden Globe awards, including one for Best Picture, Zero Dark Thirty opened to a record-breaking $124,848 on Wednesday during it’s limited release showings in five theaters in New York and Los Angeles.

From the Academy Award-winning writer and director of The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty saw the “top showing of all time for a limited release…outside The Lion King,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Now playing in select theaters, the film chronicles the decade-long hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden after the September 11 attacks and his death at the hands of the Navy S.E.A.L Team 6 in May, 2011.

Directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, Zero Dark Thirty stars Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton and Chris Pratt.
