1 Bouchon Bakery

You haven't truly tasted sweet success until you've had one of the macarons from Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery. You will find this haute spot inside the first floor lobby of Bouchon Bistro in the Beverly Hills Garden Building, but you'll feel as if you've just been to Paris after tasting some of Keller's delightful confections. The croissant is a must-try.
235 North Canon Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 (310) 271-9910

2 Sweet Lady Jane

Sweet Lady Jane may be one of the sweetest spots in LA, but you'll find nothing but the freshest ingredients inside its wide range of baked goods. While treats like cream cheese puffs and artisan breads are always on offer, try seasonal goodies like the gingerbread cookies, chocolate candied orange cake and cranberry bread pudding to satiate your sweet tooth.

3 Jin Pâtisserie

Jin Pâtisserie Pastry Boutique & Tea Garden offers unique delicacies at its home on Abbot Kinney, and unique, in our opinion, equals especially delicious. Just try to stay away from the assortment of macaroons, which come in flavors like caramel, coffee, lychee, passion fruit, pistachio and rose or chocolates made chrysanthemum with dried herbal flower, crème and white chocolate...we dare you.
1202 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA 90291 (310) 399-8801

4 Let Them Eat Cake

For the best designer pastries in the O.C., look no further than the innovative creations at Let Them Eat Cake. Christopher Garrens' cakes have won several Food Network challenges and have been featured for three seasons on WETV's Amazing Wedding Cakes. For those who want a little diversity in their sugary snacks, try the chocolate and pecan cookies or the raspberry white chocolate scone. Bliss.
3321 Hyland Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 (714) 445-0189

5 Little Next Door

The patisserie at Little Next Door is just delightful. Chocolate lovers should try the Noir, dark chocolate mousse with Devil's Food cake, while tea enthusiasts should order La Queen, a mixture of caramel, milk chocolate mousse and an Earl Grey crème brûlée. The most opulent item on the menu, however, is the Opera: seven layers of rich coffee buttercream and dark chocolate ganache with joconde (almond) sponge cake. Best of all, it's decorated with genuine gold. Ooh la la indeed.
