NBA All Star Russell Westbrook & The RW Why Not? Foundation Grant Wishes For Children in Foster Care in Oklahoma City

NBA All-star Russell Westbrook showcased his newly formed WHY NOT? Foundation this past weekend by teaming up with Citizens Caring for Children to host a Christmas party by surprising eighty Oklahoma City children living in foster care. Citizens Caring for Children (CCC) is an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit organization that provides clothing, shoes, books, school supplies, mentors and other necessities to children who have been victims of either abuse or neglect and are now living in state custody.. Through the WHY NOT? Foundation, Mr. Westbrook sent each of the children home with backpacks filled with gifts, as well as new shoes provided by the Jordan Brand.

“Now that I am in a position to help, I am honored to partner with Citizens Caring for Children to make a difference in the community,” Westbrook said. “I hope every child regardless of their circumstances will dream big and say Why Not?”

The Citizens Caring for Children Christmas Party is the wrap-up event for KFOR In Your Corner’s Joy 4 Kids campaign benefitting CCC’s Santa Stop program. Santa Stop provides individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations an opportunity to partner with CCC to provide children living in a foster or group home with Christmas gifts where gifts may not otherwise be provided. The party included Santa, ornament making, pizza, and other treats for the children. The Citizens Caring for Children Christmas Party was held in the All Soul’s Episcopal Church gymnasium, 6400 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73116, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.oma City-based nonprofit organization that provides clothing, shoes, books, school supplies, mentors and other necessities to children who have been victims of either abuse or neglect and are now living in state custody..
