So take a load off! Relax, restore, and enjoy the finest cuisine the city has to offer. Haute Living presents the top 20 festives feasts on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Restaurant:  Absinthe Brasserie & Bar

Executive Chef Adam Keough will be serving a celebratory brunch on Christmas Eve from 11:00am to 3:00pm. In addition to the classic San Francisco-inspired brasserie brunch menu that Absinthe is known for, Chef Keough will be offering a few additions including a Seasonal-Fruit Parfait with citrus gelée and mint syrup, Noni’s Pastina Soup with escarole and pecorino Romano, and Baked Eggs with braised beef short ribs, wild mushroom, fingerling potato hash, and bone-marrow crostino.

Executive Chef Justin Simoneaux invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy Christmas Eve lunch at Boxing Room from 11:30am to 4:30pm. Enjoy a Cajun and Creole-inspired feast and choose from menu favorites such as the Warm Brussels Sprout Salad with gala apples, radish, tasso ham and parmesan, Smoked Chicken & Andouille GumboDuck & Sausage Jambalaya, and Fried Chicken Po’Boy, shaved cabbage, aioli and bacon vinaigrette. Lunch-goers may also choose the Louisiana Plate Lunch Special with includes an entrée, side, dessert and beverage, all for $15.

On Monday, December 24, enjoy a five-course menu including a cheese and dessert course by Chef David Kinch for $175 per person. Wine and Beverage Director Jeff Bareilles will offer a premium wine pairing for $175 and classic wine pairing for $125. The restaurant will open at 5:30pm.

Enjoy “Christmas Eve Crab Feast” at Oakland’s industrial-chic hotspot. Bocanova’s Chef/ Owner Rick Hackett and Executive Chef John Ledbetter celebrate  Christmas Eve with a Crab Feast which will feature Dungeness crab in several preparations including a Dungeness Crab Tamale with cucumber salsa, and a Dungeness Crab Louis Salad with pickled beets, paired with dishes such as Onion Gratin with aji Amarillo, and Wilted Arugula with spiced pumpkin seeds. For dessert, guests will be served a Spicy Ginger Bread Pudding Cake with persimmon whipped cream. The Christmas Eve Crab Feast is priced at $68 per person. The feast will be offered December 24, 2012 starting at 5 p.m.

“Christmas Eve Feast of Seven Fishes” – For Christmas Eve A16’s executive chef Christopher Thompson will treat guests to a traditional Italian Feast of Seven Fishes (an Italian Christmas celebration that that typically consists of many different seafood dishes) and will feature 5 courses  with menu items such as Swordfish Carpaccio with castel franco, olio nuovo and roasted sweet peppers, Dungeness crab with fennel, pine nuts, water cress and grapefruit, and Chocolate budino with tangerine and caramel. The Christmas Eve Feast of Seven Fishes  is priced at $75 per person with optional $60 wine pairings. The feast will be offered December 24, 2012 starting at 5 p.m.

For Christmas eve this James Beard-nominated hotspot will be offering a 4 course Holiday Prix Fixe for $55/person and offered in addition to the regular menu. Menu items may include a Dungeness Crab Salad with apple gelee, celery root and frisee;Butter Nut Squash Ravioli with brown butter, grapes and sage; Scallops with braised endive, prosciutto, orange; Pan Roasted Duck with brussels sprouts, chestnuts, pumpkin puree; Chocolate Mousse Cake with hazelnuts, chocolate ice cream. Additional wine pairings are available. The restaurant will be closed Christmas Day.

Celebrate Christmas Eve at the festive Top of the Mark with the city of San Francisco twinkling in the background. Enjoy a dinner buffet including a raw bar, antipasto selection, seasonal soups and salads, small plates, a pasta station, and more. Chef Christophe Depuichaffray will feature some traditional holiday favorites including Roasted Honey Ham with Port wine demi-glace, Roasted Chestnut Casserole, Smoked salmon and caper berry tartletCherry Jubilee with cherries glazed in Gran Marnier, organic sugar and Bourbon vanilla ice cream, and Christmas Yule Log cake. Guests will also enjoy live music from San Francisco’s renowned pianist, Ricardo Scales. Top of the Mark’s Christmas Eve dinner buffet is offered from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Adults are $105 per person and children ages 4 to 12 are $59.

For Christmas Eve, Chef Aaron Wright offers a four-course menu featuring a Pacific Sablefish cauliflower puree, brussels sprouts, bacon, wild mushrooms and a Crispy Pacific Oysterswith lemon confit, braised greens, pancetta vinaigrette, petite herbs. The price is $49 per person.

On Christmas Eve Chef Henry Moreno at Yankee Pier Larkspur will be offering a 3-course prix fixe menu featuring Roasted Rockfish with delicata squash, and roasted cauliflower in honor of the holiday. The price is $49 per person.

Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen will celebrate Christmas Eve with a four-course menu. Offerings include Hawaiian Ahi Carpaccio; Wood Fire Roasted Chestnut Soup, American Wagu “Steak”; and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The price is $57 per person with optional wine flight.

Inspired by his Italian heritage and his family’s Christmas Eve tradition, Louis Maldonado, Executive Chef of Spoonbar at h2hotel, has created a seafood-focused holiday menu celebrating the traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes.  In addition to Spoonbar’s regular menu, the Seven Fishes Dinner menu will be available for the seven days leading up to Christmas with each day offering a slightly different four-course seafood selection. Diners can expect a modern take on the Italian tradition with an unusual variety of esoteric fish and crustaceans prepared with different seasonings and accompaniments over the course of seven nights.  With fish-friendly wine pairings throughout the month, menu offerings will include Giant Clam, Gooey Duck Clam, Arc Shell Clams, Sea Urchin, Striped Bass, Squid, Maine Eel,  Whole Roasted Dungeness Crab, Abalone, various Mackerel, Steelhead Roe and many more. Menus are priced from $50-$55 per person.

On Christmas Eve, Michael Mina San Francisco will offer a holiday-inspired tasting menu that includes: Kindai Sashimi lime-scented geoduck, soy, fresh grated wasabi; Chilled Dungeness Crab Salad winter citrus, shiso, avocado; Slow Scrambled Jidori Hen Egg Santa Barbara sea urchin, black truffle, firebrand brioche; Seared Maine Diver Scallops melted leeks, salsify, caviar two ways; Ruby Red Prawns marina di chioggia gnocchi, pomegranate, black truffle ‘sandwich’; Butter Poached Maine Lobster sweet & sour pork shoulder, brown garlic, chicories, vin santo; Crispy Skin Virginia Striped Bass short rib ravioli, sunchoke purée, mushroom relish; Maple Custard orange caramel, smoked vanilla, marcona almonds, bourbon. The menu is priced at $125 per person, with optional wine pairings for $75 per person.

On Christmas Day Executive Chef Peter Rudolph is offering Madera guests a three-course prix-fixe menu. Chef Rudolph will features dishes such asCured Hamachi TatarBraised Beef Short Ribs, Red Wine Risotto, Pan Roasted Diver Scallops “Grenobloise”, and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. The cost is $95 per guest, $45 per child age 12 and under.

TRACE at W San Francisco offers something wonderful for lovers of sustainable, local food on Christmas Day, as Executive Chef Paul Piscopo offers a special four-course holiday tasting menu as well as his seasonal à la carte dinner menu.

From the holiday menu, guests will dine on a first course of Sliced Yellowtail, Green Goddess, Cucumber, Icicle Radish, Toasted Almond; a second-course choice of Roasted Sea Scallops, Celery Root Puree, Charred Cauliflower, Fried Caper; or Chestnut Agnolotti, Roasted Chanterelles, Arugula Pesto, Meyer Lemon; a third-course choice of Pan Roasted Black Cod, Butterbeans, Cavolo Nero, Prosciutto Broth; or Porcini Rubbed Beef Filet, Potato Puree, Roasted Maitake, Broccoli Rabe; and, for dessert, Toasted Bay Leaf Panna Cotta, Mandarin Syrup, Huckleberry. In addition to Bistro Boudin’s regular menu, Executive Chef Misael Reyes will offer a Special Holiday Prix Fixe Menu on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve – menu Items Include Ahi Tuna Tartare; Butter Poached Maine Lobster made with Saffron Cream Sauce, Pearl Couscous, Mergez Sausage, Rainbow Potatoes and Cherry Tomatoes; Pan Roasted Petite Filet Mignon made with Pinot Noir and Cherry Gastrique, Pomme Gratin, Dill and Honey Glazed Rainbow Carrots; and a Panna Cotta Trio. Boudin Bakery also offers their signature sourdough bread sculpted into festive holiday shapes.

Michelin star Chef Daniel Corey will offer a multi-course feast during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Luce at the InterContinental San Francisco. Enjoy dishes such as Dungeness Crab with cauliflower, grapefruit and almond and Scallop “Mi-Cuit,” with crispy buckwheat and black truffle duck consommé. Guests can also select from main courses including Rib Eye of Prime Beef or Duck Breast and finish the meal with Eggnog Cheesecake or Chocolate Tartelet. Dinner is $80 person or $125 per person including wine pairing. A kids menu is available for $45 for those between four and ten years old.

Christmas Day Brunch and Dinner Buffet is a long-standing San Francisco tradition.  Chef Christophe Depuichaffray takes over this holiday, inviting guests to enjoy a special holiday brunch and dinner buffet from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Experience every delicious holiday treat you could imagine from traditional prime rib and turkey to a sweet selection of holiday cakes and pies. Brunch highlights include an omelet and waffle station, farm fresh eggs, grilled ham, and Applewood smoked bacon. Christmas Day highlights include Veal Roulade stuffed with prosciutto, cheese and simple jus, Fingerling potatoes with caramelized onions and organic herbs, Truffle veal shank consommé with winter vegetables, and San Francisco seafood chowder. The Silverado’s iconic resort’s Christmas Day Buffet takes place on Tuesday, December 25 in the elegant Grand Ballroom from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Executive Chef Jeffery Jake’s menu will feature an array of dishes such as Roast Chestnut SoupDixon Farm Lamb LoinCaggiano HamHeirloom Carrots & Broccoli, and a variety of traditional holiday desserts. Adults are $58 per person; children ages 4 to 12 are $27 per person; children under three are free of charge. Additional Christmas Day dining options include a three-course holiday menu at The Grill from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, and the resort’s acclaimed Royal Oak will be serving its regular dinner menu from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.
