Haute Eat Beirut: Le Gray’s Cherry on the Rooftop

Everything can be seen from on top – the small streets, the cars, the different buildings, the people and the sea surrounding the city of Beirut at Le Gray’s trendy restaurant and bar – Cherry on the Rooftop. One of the city’s hottest venues, I had heard many rave of the place even in Dubai. So during a weekend in Beirut, I ventured up the hotel myself to enjoy the renowned comforts of this popular lounge bar.

Apparently named after the engaging fruity artworks which are positioned near the entrance way, once you step inside and take a look at the menu, you’ll be impressed by the list of enticing and innovative fruity cocktails. it was late in the evening and my guest and I took a table near the edge of the terrace in order to relish in the beautiful view. Faint and subtle lights gave off a warm and comforting glow; there wasn’t much of a crowd, but we also weren’t there during one of the busiest days of the week. I settled on a Cherry on Top made with Jack Daniel’s, Cherry Heering, lemon juice and sugar syrup – very sweet and fruity, like the name of the venue, while my friend had a Berry Caipirinha made with Sagatiba Cachaca, lime juice and mixed berries. We were delighted.

Cherry on the Rooftop is indeed a special place. Full of magical views of the city below, which at once feels so close yet far away – the venue is a great place for a drink and a break from the world below.
