A retrospective covering over 100 years of glorious French lingerie makes its debut in Dubai this month. Entitled Lingerie Française, the show celebrates the
design, innovation and savoir-faire of French lingerie, as well as its legendary qualities of luxury and glamour. The show comes to Dubai after stops in Paris, London and Shanghai exhibitions in the first time that the most famous French brands have come together to unveil their brands.
The show culminates with the must-see ‘Holographic Lady” depicting the evolution of the female silhouette. On display are the collections of Aubade, Barbara, Chantelle, Empreinte, Implicite, Maison Lejaby, Lou, Lise, Charmel, Passionata, Princesse, Tam Tam and Simone Pérèle. The exhibition tells the story of millions of women throughout the last century, and how French lingerie plays a part in charting their modern evolution and society values.
The retrospective includes 260 pieces of influential and iconic lingerie, beginning in the 1880’s and ending with the creations of tomorrow. Enhanced with video installations that will bring this story to life, visitors will also find the most striking advertising imagery, films and photos from each era. Visitors can also learn about the astounding techniques and innovative fabrics used in creating these legendary creations.
Lingerie Française runs from 23 November – 8 December at the Galeries Lafayette in The Dubai Mall.
