QUINCY JONES RECEIVES AWARD FROM MONTBLANC
Quincy Jones is the recent recipient of Montblanc’s de la Culture Arts Patronage Award.
The 79-year-old producer was honored not only for his five decades of involvement in the music industry, but for his commitment to finding and honing the skills of up-and-coming young talent.
He was also feted for his work with The National Black Arts Festival, the Quincy Jones Listen Up Foundation and the Jazz Foundation of America.
Jones received a $20,000 award, which he donated to the Jazz Foundation, and a special edition Montblanc pen.

Brad Pitt is a beautiful trailblazer.
The A-list actor is the first man the Chanel brand has ever used to promote a woman’s fragrance.
Pitt is the star of a new commercial shot by “Anna Karenina” director Joe Wright promoting the company’s iconic fragrance, Chanel No. 5.
Andrea d’Avack, the president of Chanel Fragrance and Beauty, told Women’s Wear Daily that “to keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume.”
HENRY SEGERSTROM HONORED BY STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Henry Segerstrom has received an honor from his alma mater, Stanford University.
The South Coast Plaza founder was inducted into Stanford Real Estate’s Hall of Fame on September 28 with a banquet dinner and VIP reception at the Westin South Coast Plaza.
The Stanford BA’46, MBA’48 graduate received the honor for his success in real estate development as well as his philanthropic work.
DREAMWORKS SKG CREATORS DONATE $90 MILLION TO THE MPTF
DreamWorks SKG creators Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen are each donating $30 million to the MPTF Campaign, whose goal is to reach $350 million.
George Clooney, a Motion Picture + Television Fund Board member and campaign co-chair, announced the generous donations.
He said: “Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen are each legendary for their philanthropy and individually have made immeasurable impact on charities and organizations…in our Hollywood community and around the nation. And now for them to make this unified commitment to MPTF only adds to that incredible record of generosity.”

Jennifer Aniston is using her voice for good – literally.
The A-list actress heads up an all-star lineup of celebrities who sing the iconic hit “Hey Jude” in support of cancer research.
She is joined by Ellen DeGeneres, Michael Jordan, Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Hamm and Betty White, all of whom are singing The Beatles’ tune for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The 43-year-old urges people to pledge $35 or more to heystjude.org.
