Real estate mogul Donald Trump has turned his developer’s attention toward Homestead, where he plans to build a futuristic movie studio.

According to The Miami Herald, Trump “steadfastly” stands by the project, despite recent and contrary indications from a Trump representative. In a statement sent to Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Joe Martinez, Trump reportedly wrote, “I want to confirm my interest in the pursuit of creating this new industry in South Florida and I know it will be a spectacular success.”

The plan includes building a large movie complex neighboring the Homestead Air Reserve Base.

On Wednesday, Martinez followed up on Trump’s statement and said, “It’s about bringing a new industry, thousands of jobs and at the same time it will kick star construction, because people will buy homes here.”

In order for the project to proceed, the Trump organization will have to deal with various environmental challenges, however Ed Russo, who is the movie studio project manager points out, it’s nothing they haven’t dealt with before.
