Judd Apatow Honored at Yahoo! Sports’ ‘Day of Champions’ Cancer Research Event

Judd Apatow is in the business of making people laugh, but he was semi-serious while accepting an award for his philanthropic contributions over the weekend.

The “This Is 40” director attended “A Day of Champions” event on Sunday in honor of the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program.

The event, which was presented by Yahoo! Sports, was held at the Sports Museum of Los Angeles and was heavily attended by various athletes.

After Apatow received his Children’s Choice award from producer pal J.J. Abrams, guests were able to mingle with some of the biggest names in professional, Olympic and extreme sports at the day-long fundraiser.

Special demonstrations and activities allowed guests to challenge athletes to basketball, football, soccer and boxing;  batting cages, speed pitch, miniature golf, sumo wrestling, a Velcro wall and rock climbing were also offered.

Calum Worthy, Emblem Three, Karate Athlete Raymond “The Real” Daniels and boxing contenders the
Weaver Brothers.
