Haute Ambassador Dori Cooperman : Dori’s World

Rich welcomed guests to a custom-designed West Village loft space for an evening that helped a compelling cause and kept Gabrielle’s memory alive.

Social season kicked into high gear this September, with Fashion Week dominating the event circuit, the New York Film Festival bringing the toast of Hollywood to town and big ticket charity events rounding out the calendar.

Local designer Vivienne Tam celebrated her runway show and the launch of her new TSL Fine Jewelry collection with a star-studded bash at London import Hakkasan, where I mingled with guests including Phillip Bloch, Alexandra Lebenthal, Julie Macklowe and Mia Morgan. We all enjoyed dim sum and other Cantonese treats from the haute Chinese restaurant while toasting Vivienne’s continued success.

Fashion melded with film when Dolce & Gabbana hosted the premiere of Federico Fellini’s restored classic Satyricon at Lincoln Center’s Francesca Beale Theater as part of the New York Film Festival. Italian film aficionados Domencio Dolce and Stefano Gabbana welcomed Gina Gershon, Annelise Peterson, Amanda Ross, Carla Gugino, Nicky Hilton, Derek Blasberg and Genevieve Jones to the screening and party.

On October 3 I was honored to join my friend Denise Rich at the Angel Ball launch party which benefited Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation, a bloodcancer research charity in memory of Rich’s late daughter Gabrielle, who at 27 succumbed to acute myelogenous leukemia. Rich welcomed guests to a custom-designed West Village loft space for an evening that helped a compelling cause and kept Gabrielle’s memory alive.
