The 2012 Rising Stars Gala benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday night in Beverly Hills with Glee stars Lea Michele, Darren Criss and Amber Riley performing.

The stars came out to honor the night’s award recipients Dana Walden, chairman of Twentieth Century Fox Television; Kim Vamos, former Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles Guild president; Roshon Fegan of Disney’s “Shake It Up” and Season 14’s “Dancing With the Stars” and Sumner Redstone, Executive Chairman of Viacom and CBS Corporation.

Walden received the Sherry Lansing Award, Redstone was named Walt Disney Man of the Year and Vamos received the Trailblazer Award.

The gala was hosted by KTLA’s Allie Mac Kay who praised the young performers and the television show Glee for it’s “positive impact on the lives of many young people,” according to Society News LA.

Approximately $700,000 was raised for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, which matches young boys and girls with adult mentors to help improve their school performance, attain higher self-esteem and achieve their goals.

Guests included NBC’s president of entertainment, Jennifer Salke, “The Talk”’s Julie Chen, Guild president Mary Willard, Paramount CEO Brad Grey and more.

Michele wore a one-shoulder Michael Kors dress, Christian Louboutin heels and Graziela jewels.

For over 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles have worked to provide mentors for at-risk children and, according to their website, currently support more than 1500 active matches in their Community Based, School Based and Workplace Mentoring Programs.
