Alicia Keys Set To Honor Oprah Winfrey at The 2012 Black Ball

The ninth Annual Black Ball will be taking place on November 1st, 2012 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The ball will feature a performance from global superstar Beyonce and the legendary Carole King. These multi-Grammy Award-winning artists will also share the stage with event host Alicia Keys and emcee by Whoppi Goldberg. Past performers have included Jay-Z, Adele, Bono among many others.

The ninth annual Black Ball will celebrate the power of women and the promise of an AIDS-free Africa.  Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, owner of Red Rooster Harlem and New York Times Best-Selling Author of Yes, Chef will be designing the menu for the special evening. Sherry-Lehmann Wine & Spirits, a premier Upper East Side fixture for over 75 years, is generously providing Champagne, wine and spirits to be enjoyed by Black Ball guests. All proceeds raised at the Black Ball go to support Keep a Child Alive foundation.

Founded in 2003, KCA provides lifesaving AIDS treatment, care and support to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Proceeds from the event will help KCA fund clinical and orphan projects in India, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa. To date, KCA has served over 300,000 people.
