Porsche Design’s 40th Anniversary Party

Porsche Design celebrated its 40th anniversary in style with a grandiose, star-studded bash at LA’s historic Sheats Goldstein Residence on September 4th.

The Hollywood Hills home, created by famed architect John Lautner, acted as a haute centerpiece for the event. Four decades of the company’s iconic style was featured throughout multi-millionaire James Goldstein’s labyrinth of a house, from paint-covered models wearing the brand’s racing helmets to underwater swimmers showcasing its watches.

British beauty Kate Beckinsale hosted the event, introducing Porsche Design CEO Juergen Gessler and Creative Director Thomas Steinbruck before 2011 Eurovision song contest winner Lena Meyer-Landrut performed. Guests were then offered a small sneak preview of the Women’s and Men’s Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Collection, which made its official debut at New York Fashion Week this season.

The evening’s grand finale introduced Porsche Design’s very first women’s purse, the Porsche’s Design TwinBag, via giant white hot air balloons. It will be available in stores come April 2013. After the fashion-filled presentation, guests including Sheldon Haley, Noah Becker, Chad Hugo, Terri Seymour and Sofia Milos all noshed on molecular-style nouvelle fusion dishes from Michelin starred German chef Nelson Mueller while a crowd comprised mostly of models danced the night away underneath a starlit sky.
