Hamptons International Film Festival Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Hampton International Film Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary on October 4-8 at venues around the East End. The star-studded event will include actors and filmmakers including Nathan Lane, Melissa Leo, Justin Long, Sienna Miller, Ari Graynor, Richard Gere and Alan Cumming.

Highlights at the upcoming festival include Ben Affleck’s new movies, Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney and The Sopranos creator David Chase.

The four-day event will feature a full lineup of 22 world premieres among more than 80 feature films. On opening night, guests will view, Love, Marilyn, a documentary about Marilyn Monroe and Silver Linings Playbook starring Bradley Cooper, Robert Di Niro and Jacki Weaver.

The centerpiece film of the event is Affleck’s true-life thriller, Argo, which is set against the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.

Singer Stevie Nicks will speak at a screening of her documentary, In Your Dreams: Stevie Nicks.

The festival will close with Chase’s feature film debut, Not Fade Away, about a teenage rock band in the 1960s.
