Gucci Gets Set to Custom Design Florence’s Tour Wardrobe

During the upcoming Florence + The Machine Ceremonials world tour, one of the most luxurious designers will create the stage costumes for Florence Welch. Creative director Frida Giannini of the Italian fashion house, Gucci will custom-design the “autumn/winter outfits” for the anticipated tour.

In fact, just last year during Florence Welch’s 2011 North American tour, Gucci also designed a wardrobe for the singer, so their relationship has already been established, leading the bond to become even stronger with this big announcement.

“I was immediately drawn to the drama of the [autumn/winter 2012-13], collection when I first saw it on the catwalk,” said Welch. “I am so grateful to Frida and feel very fortunate to be collaborating with Gucci once again.”

Following the announcement, Gucci has released a sketch of an idea of the style of outfit that the brand has created, but as far as exact details none has been confirmed.

“Seeing Florence evolve as an artist since her last tour has been truly inspiring, and I was delighted to work with her on this new wardrobe,” said Giannini. “For her on-stage style, we wanted to create a romantic yet modern aesthetic for Florence to interpret with her dark glamour and dramatic sensuality. I am looking forward to the show as Florence always puts an enchanting energy into every performance.”

Today marks the start of the Florence + The Machine Ceremonials world tour in Boston and will finish in Dublin on December 12.
