Our annual Haute 100 list is a compilation of the most influential individuals in business, technology, fashion and other top industries. We don’t have to search far to find the 100 most intriguing and successful people in Los Angeles. But it can be quite a task to keep up with them, as these power players are launching iPad apps, earning prestigious awards and even getting engaged. As such, a yearly update simply isn’t enough.

A. Michael Bay: Miami Dade County Announces June 5th as Michael Bay Day

Renowned producer and director Michael Bay has a growing list of achievements under his belt, and now the Hollywood talent can add another recognition to that list. During a recent commission meeting, Commissioner Sally Heyman announced the newly appointed “Michael Bay Day” in Miami Dade County. The acknowledgment, which was requested by the Miami-Dade Film and Entertainment Advisory Board and the Miami-Dade Office of Film and Entertainment, is recognizing Bay for his “contributions and the positive economic impact his films have had on Miami-Dade County.”

B. Donald Trump: The Donald Proposes New Project Plan In Miami-Dade County

Donald Trump has announced his desire to build a film production studio in Miami-Dade County, with architectural renderings recently presented to the county commissioners by County Commission Chairman, Joe Martinez. The architectural designs show several connected plazas with production stages ranging from 20,000 to 250,000 square feet “twice the size of Universal Studios,” said Trump’s legal counsel, Michael Cohen. The Trump Studio City, which would be located near the Homestead Air base, proposes to bring in “millions of dollars in revenue to the city and thousands of new jobs.” 

C. Lennox Lewis: The Heavyweight Champ Serves as Radio Commentator for the 2012 Olympics

World heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis will be a participant in BBC 5 Radio’s Olympic commentary team. The British boxer will be hosting live coverage on boxing and will be joined by some of England’s most recognized athletes. “I’m so excited about London 2012 and can’t wait to get there and see it all get started,” said Lennox when expressing his enthusiasm. “I’m delighted to be working with BBC Radio 5 live through the Olympics.” 

D. Nancy Brinker: The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Founder Announces New Partnership

Since the founding of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 1982, Nancy G. Brinker has remained one of the most avid leaders in the research and cure of cancer. Combined with numerous donations, contributions and events supported by contributors, Brinker’s unwavering commitment has led to the largest nonprofit foundation for the cure against the disease.

In its latest partnership with Dynasty Limousine, the transportation company will donate five percent of the revenues generated by its customized pink 2012 Cadillac Escalade to the cause, in addition to providing the vehicle at no charge for fundraising events hosted by the foundation. “We ordered this Pink Escalade with the hopes of doing our part by bringing awareness to the cause, and we have plans to order additional Pink Limousines in the future and expand our charitable partnership,” said Anne Fleming, CEO of Dynasty Limousine.

E. Alejandro Sanz: The Latin Music Sensation Ties the Knot

On May 23, Latin sensation Alejandro Sanz tied the knot with longtime girlfriend, Raquel Perera. The ultra private nuptials took place in Barcelona, Spain.“It was a very beautiful day, unique and moving and everything went as we had dreamed,” the couple said in a statement. For the reception, the newlyweds held a celebration party at Sanz’s farm in Jarandilla de la Vera, where they also baptized their 11-month old son.
