Luxury brand Hermes debuted its Gift of Time exhibition in Hong Kong before moving to the shores of Singapore at Tanjong Pagar Railway station.

Gift of Time is a traveling art installation exhibition. Held from August 1 through August 12 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Hermes Gift of Time exhibition will be housed in the renaissance-styled Tanjong Pagar Railway station, a location traditionally closed to the general public. For the event, the space was transformed with warm lighting and 7 rooms of installation art.

The exhibition is intended to highlight the excellence reflected in the consummate skills of craftsmen saddlers, the meticulous precision of watchmakers, the virtuosity of the engravers and the dedication to quality of all artisans and designers.

American artist and Hermes collaborator, Hilton McConnico, conceptualized the event and “interpreted time as something surreal, as part of some dreamscape.” According to McConnico, “Hermes time does not try to master time but rather offers us the time to see and understand this ever changing world.”

The exhibition includes a “Stroke of Time” room featuring creative artwork that incorporates the use of a Hermes bag, acting as a pendulum. In another room, there is a whimsical hare writing on a Hermes Diary, a classical cuckoo clock with the signature Hermes horse, a tortoise at the root of the tree where leaves and branches are hand painted, and more.

There is also a “Popaganda” store selling sweet treats such as popsicles and a “U Café” serving Wagyu roast beef, brie cheese, minted mochas, and more.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
