Top 10 Bastille Day Celebrations in the Bay Area

As Bastille Day is quickly upon us, the sweet taste of Bastille Day celebrations linger in the air.

The national French Holiday celebrated on July 14th each year brings celebrations including phenomenal French meals, parties, music and dancing. Haute Living Brings you the Top 10 Bay Area Bastille Day Celebrations.

1. Belden Place

Known as the “French Quarter” of San Francisco, this charming cobblestone alleyway is filled with all of the allure of Paris. Boasting the largest French-American community in the city, Belden Place throws one of the biggest Bastille Day parties in the country.

Trademark kicks things off at 4 pm by converting their outdoor patio into a full-on beer garden during happy hour. Plouf and Café Bastille start their own parties at 5:30 pm with live DJs, classic French food and drinks. Trademark takes over again at 10 pm with their own DJs, late-night food, and $6 Absolut drinks until closing.

2.  Artpoint Presents “Paris is Burning” at the De Young

In honor of Jean Paul Gaultier, ArtPoint will host their third annual Bastille Day Party. Guests will have after-hours access to one of the most talked-about exhibitions of the season, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. Affirm the designer’s mantra, “equality, diversity, and perversity,” and raise a glass to France, fashion and social democracy.

3.  Carnelian by the Bay

This stunning waterfront restaurant is not only the perfect location to watch fireworks, but also to enjoy happy hour and dinner specials.  From 5:00 to 10:00 pm, Carnelian By the Bay hosts music by Frenchy Le Freak, Donovan, Rooz, Pheeko Dub Funk and CLA.

4.  Amélie Wine Bar

7. Le Garage in Sausalito

8. Donaine Carneros in Napa

Celebrate rouge, blanc and bleu on Bastille Day at the stunning Napa Chateau. Enjoy sparkling wine apertifs, French hors d’œuvres, and French and American musical favorites with a live jazz trio. Sweet treats and sparklers complete the soiree.

9. Taste of Napa at Westin Verasa

The Festival del Sole’s signature Taste of Napa event will be held at The Westin Verasa Napa on Bastille Day, July 14. The event offers an opportunity to savor many fine wines together with foods from artisanal purveyors, and special programs including wellness and an opportunity to experience yoga in a vineyard.

10.  The Founders Dinner at the Seven Stones Winery

The Founders Dinner for 2012 Festival del Sole will be held at the exclusive Seven Stones Winery on Bastille Day. Award-winning chef Mark Dommen of One Market Restaurant in San Francisco will pair his fine cuisine with the cult Seven Stones Cabernet Sauvignon and rare bottles from the cellars of owners Ron and Anita Wornick.
