Shauna Mei

Shauna Mei is the founder and CEO of, an innovative global social/e-commerce media company. She says she started after realizing that many of the best products from all over the world were not globally available to consumers. She is also the founder of Mobius Strip, LLC, a company dedicated to creating responsible, inspiring and profitable businesses at the intersection between fashion, design and life’s experiences. Her clientsincluded Starwood Hotel Group, Casall, Vivienne Tam and Nooka. Prior to Mobius Strip, Shauna co-founded Aronsson Group, a luxury fashion investment and advisory firm, with Jeffry Aronsson (former CEO of Donna Karan International, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta), where they invested and advised many companies from fashion brands to trading companies. Originally from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, she is fluent in Chinese and English and currently resides in New York.

How long in New york:
I’ve been here off and on since 2005. I just moved back this year after a two year stint in Stockholm, Sweden but I don’t think I’ve ever NOT been to NYC at least once a month even when I lived in Europe.

I go the Summit for the best cocktails in the city, but I’m not much of a club person.

Bowery Hotel lobby, it’s my 2nd office

Bond Street… I love everything, the people, the stores, my office, the restaurants.
If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend?
It’s a secret... but Lafayette House (attached to Bowery Hotel but quiet and big rooms)
