Perrier-Jouët champagne House celebrated a historical moment with the international unveiling of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Florale Edition by Makoto Azuma in Japan, a country with a long-standing historical relationship with the luxury brand.

The Belle Epoque Florale Edition by Makoto Azuma is the first designed limited edition of Bell Epoque since Emile Galle in 1902. Created by renowned floral Japanese artist Makoto Azuma, Belle Epoque Florale Edition features a single delicate botanical arabesque dotted with white Japanese anemones, recalling the original 1902 design.

According to Azuma, “I wanted to make something extraordinary, taking inspiration from the sensation of champagne inside the mouth, and the delicate movement of the ivy and leaves with a special attention and tribute given to Emilie Galle’s anemones.”

The Belle Epoque Florale Edition by Makoto Azuma was revealed during an exclusive international event at a traditional Japanese Happoen-garden in the heart of Tokyo. The event featured an elaborate, elegant and imaginative exhibition telling the story of Emile Galle and Azuma Makoto. Japanese celebrities such as Miki Maya, Ai Tominaga, Verbal and Tomoyasu Hotel were in attendance along with VIPS like Chinese designer Wendy Yip and Hong-Kong designer Dorian Ho, actress Isabel Leung.

Lionel Breton, Chairman & CEO Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët said, “Makoto Azuma and Perrier-Jouët share the same values of tradition, passion for Nature, and genuine originality and we are delighted to have found in Azuma the Emilie Galle of modern times through his unique creation.”

Belle Epoque Florale Edition by Makoto Azuma is only available in limited quantities worldwide as of September.
