London Welcomes the Excitement of a Lotus Store

Along with other upscale labels, British brand Lotus has made London its new home by the help of its Malaysian parent company. The Lotus Originals flagship store features scale model cars, Lotus engineer designed bicycles, luxury clothing, toys and luggage, all in 592 sq m.

Earlier this year, Lotus was taken over by DRB-Hicom.

At Wednesday’s grand opening of the shop, DRB-Hicom Bhd group managing director and Proton executive chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil explained his excitement for the store’s opening, “What better time for Lotus Originals to make an arrival here, so near to the Olympics, in the heart of London’s Piccadilly, whilst the city is buzzing with massive excitement and gathering of people of many nations all around the world,”

The store wasn’t the only reveal for the day, the latest sports car by the British brand was debuted, the Exige S.

Among the guests were South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon, Malaysian High Commissioner to Britain Datuk Seri Zakaria Sulong, and DRN-Hicom chairman Datuk Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza.

Also, prior to the opening Trade Secretary Dr Vince Cable stopped by to wish all of his best. As for the future, Lotus plans to develop a Lotus 3S centre and a regional centre in Malaysia, along with a similar flagship store in Kuala Lumpur in which Mohd Khamil stated that will be open approximately within the next three to six months.

Within the next three months, the Exige S would be brought into Malaysia, but only 10 units the Lotus chief operating officer Aslam Farikullah stated.

As for now the newest car addition has a waiting list of 400 customers from around the world.
