Haute Event: Edie Falco Supports the Animal Haven Benefit

Emmy-winning actress Edie Falco, singer-songwriter Matt White, and Sponge Bob, “New York City’s Fattest Cat” joined hundreds of friends and fans last night to toast Animal Haven shelter at the “Second Annual Performance for the Animals.”

Singer Matt White was on hand to perform some of his biggest hits while Edie Falco and Sponge Bob posed for photos and conducted interviews. Edie spoke about her hit Showtime series, “Nurse Jackie”, and spoke candidly on her adoption of Brussels Griffon, “Sammy” in October of 2011.

Sponge Bob was on hand for his final appearance with Animal Haven, posing for photos with Edie Falco, before heading home to his new family on NYC’s Upper West Side. New York is full of “fat cats” but Sponge Bob has been making headlines around the country in the last week – weighing in at a whopping 30lbs. Justin Silver and the crew of the CBS series, “Dogs in the City” almost made an appearance at the event. The show has been busy filming with Animal Haven all last week for its season finale. The episode will air later this summer.

The evening, which was billed as a celebration of the 10,000 adoptions facilitated by SoHo-based shelter since opening its doors in 1967, raised more than $125,000 for the organization.
