Glee’s Jane Lynch Helps to Raise $1 Million for the Geffen Playhouse

The annual gala for the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood on Monday was hosted by Jane Lynch of Glee, who had previous participated in the theater company’s past fundraisers. Other stars in attendance included Annette Bening, Julie Andrews and Alfre Woodward.

“Backstage at the Geffen” is the annual gala for the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood, Los Angeles. There was a lineup of A-list stars, a silent auction, presentations and musical entertainment.

Tickets sold for $350 and up and the event raised $1 million from silent auction sales, tickets and sponsorships. Presentations were made by actors Helen Mirren, Andy Garcia, Warren Beatty, Dick Van Dyke, Dana Delany, singer Monica Mancini and 17-time writer for the Academy Awards telecast Bruce Vilanch.

Co-chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, Jim Gianopulos was presented with the theater’s Distinction of Service Award and TV star Carol Burnett received the Distinction in Theater Award.
