Questlove and DJ Jazzy Jeff finished off Palms’ three-day, non-stop Memorial Day weekend party inside Moon Nightclub in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Jazzy Jeff and his hype-man MC Skillz took the stage together opening with Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin” while friend Chis Kilmore of Incubus joined them to enjoy the show. The set was a mix of popular hits and old school favorites like Kenya West’s “All Of The Lights,” Ginuwine’s “Pony” and Bob Marley’s “One Love.”
Finishing the set with The Roots track, they introduced Questlove who took to the DJ booth next. He played for more than two hours mixing top 40 tracks with many Roots songs. Questlove, Grammy Award-winning band member of The Roots that now is the in-house band for “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” made the club come alive with his sonically innovative beats while guests enjoyed Moon’s retractable roof and danced under the stars.
Earlier in the day, Palms Pool & Bungalows enjoyed a little California love when the DJ duo Sex Panther took to the stage. Confetti, crowd-surfing, champagne showers and the Djs’ limitless energy was contagious. They spun unique mixes to popular songs all day including hits like Wiz Khalifa’s “The Thrill.”
