Haute Event: Fuego Fusion Holds a Shimmy Mob at the Miracle Mile Shops

The Shimmy Mob at Miracle Miles Shops.

On Saturday, May 12, local belly dance group Fuego Fusion held a shimmy mob at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort to raise money for The Shade Tree, a local homeless and abused women’s and children’s shelter.

At 4 p.m., a group of trained dancers performed a four-minute belly dance routine on Miracle Mile Shops’ plaza outside of Cabo Wabo Cantina. Dancers in Saturday’s shimmy mob collected funds for The Shade Tree leading up to and during the event. Created and organized by acclaimed belly dancer Francesca Sabeya, shimmy mobs occurred in nearly 100 locations in the U.S. and Canada on World Belly Dance Day and in seven other countries worldwide. Each mob celebrated belly dance as an art form and raised donations for various women’s and children’s shelters.
