Chateau Marmont Hosts Nomadic Art Show

On the evening of Thursday, May 4, LAND (Los Angeles Nomadic Division) held, “A Nomadic Night with Zoe Crosher: For An Evening With Eve Babitz” in the penthouse of the Chateau Marmont. The evening featured photographs from Zoe Crosher’s Trangressions series, depicting locations of famous Los Angeles disappearances. These large images of lonely ocean and beach views were mounted on the suite’s walls and each paired with delicious mouth-size desserts by bld restaurant.

A signature drink, Eve Babitz’s White Lady Cocktail, made of London dry gin, lemon juice, Cointreau and egg whites, was served to a fashionable art crowd that circulated the rooms of the suite and took in the brilliant view of Los Angeles from the large patio. Crosher also used the event as an opportunity to turn a spotlight on the disappearance of another sort: the written works of Eve Babitz. The legendary Los Angeles author’s works are out of print, but hopefully not for long.

LAND is a non-profit public art organization committed to curating site-and situation-specific contemporary art projects. They host interesting events around Los Angeles perfect for art lovers.
