Located in the Mission District of San Francisco, Central Kitchen opened on May 10. Described as an “upscale spinoff” of chef Thomas McNaughton’s Flour + Water restaurant, Central Kitchen is located at Florida and 20th Street.
Opened by chef McNaughton and chef de cuisine Michael Gaines, Central Kitchen’s menu features items priced under $30 made from ingredients such as salted true cod, poached hen, young potatoes, goat’s whey and nettle ragu. Inspired by the continuous evolution of Northern Californian cuisine, the menu includes a five-course tasting menu for $79, which can include beverage pairings (additional $50) and a cheese supplement ($6).
Lisa Lu, a masterful pastry chef, will be handling the sweet treats served at Central Kitchen.
