All can hail McQueen now!

Net-a-Porter announced today that it will exclusively offer its customers a private order service in which to shop nine looks from the FW12 collection in celebration of Sarah Burton’s first and much lauded runway collection for McQ Alexander McQueen.

This exceptional and limited edition collection will be available to customers for seven days only from May 16 through May 23rd. In a partnership that sees NET-A-PORTER as the exclusive global retailer for this pre-launch period, the private order service will offer customers the opportunity to reserve these special pieces – which will then be made to order and delivered to the customer in time for the fall winter season.

Just this past February 2012, McQ showed on during London Fashion Week for the first time revealing a collection designed to complement the Alexander McQueen mainline while remaining loyal to the house’s instantly recognizable signature. With Creative Director Sarah Burton at the helm, the collection offered aspirational pieces to define the trends and silhouette of the season.   Surely all the fashionable residents of San Francisco are still abuzz from her presence at the AAU grad fashion show and are starving for some McQ.  Highlights include a broderie anglaise embroidered oxblood velvet dress, a traditional blanket wool coat in Black Watch tartan, a black leather jacket with shearling sleeves and a hand dyed silk and wool dark military green dress.

Jonathan Akeroyd, CEO of Alexander McQueen says, “I’m excited to be working with NET-A-PORTER on this special project, offering its huge global customer base the chance to pre-order these special McQ runway pieces before anyone else. This is a first for both of us.”

Holli Rogers, Fashion Director at NET-A-PORTER says, “Sarah Burton is a true visionary. Her first McQ Alexander McQueen runway show was a masterful blend of McQueen’s synonymous avant-garde aesthetic and a delicate sensibility, realized by intricate embroidery and use of texture. We are excited that in our exclusive partnership we can offer our customers around the globe this unique opportunity to own a piece of fashion history.”
