Haute Fashion Daily: Jason Wu Launches Furniture Line

Jason Wu has made a name for himself as a women’s wear designer for the sophisticated intricacies of his designs. His garments have been highly praised by the world’s elite, and now, the young designer has taken on a new endeavor: interiors.

“I never thought of myself as being limited to fashion. I’m a designer and if you have a vision you can apply that to anything,” says Wu.

The Taipei native has partnered with Canvas for the creation of a highly-anticipated furniture collection, which is inspired by Art Deco designers and “mid-century” Danish style. The collection, which hits stores today, is comprised of eight pieces; some of these featuring Wu’s handmade lace motif embroidery, in addition to painted medallions, hand-waxed finishes over vintage blackened metal, hand-dyed linen upholstery and hand-blown glass accessories.

Canva’s founder, Andrew Corrie, recently praised Wu’s talent, saying “Jason has a spectacular taste level and an eye for detail which lends a wonderfully glamorous feel to everything.” We couldn’t agree more.
