Haute Event: Make a Wish Foundation’s Garden Party Hosted By Al & Nancy Malnik

In Miami we are all aware that the summers are usually the slow season but there are a few days left in the spring with key events and soirées we look forward too. One of the Hautest invitations we get this time of year would have to be the Garden Party at Al & Nancy Malnik’s breathtaking Oceanside home benefiting the South Florida Make A Wish Foundation.

With a beautiful setting and un matched hospitality this was one of the spring social season’s most anticipated and beloved gatherings, this was the seventh year in a row and attracted more than 200 of South Florida’s leading philanthropists as they enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and exciting announcements regarding this year’s upcoming Ball. Held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, the Ball will be hosted by “The Three Amigos,” Norman Wedderburn, President and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, Shareef Malnik, Ball Chairman and proprietor of The Forge Restaurant | Wine Bar, and Robert Hill, Ball Host and General Manager of InterContinental Miami.

It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon celebration of the 2011 Ball’s achievement of a $10 million lifetime fundraising milestone and in anticipation of the upcoming 18th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball. The mission of the Make-A-Wish Southern Florida is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions seeking to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Covering a 13-county territory of Southern Florida, the chapter’s goal is to grant more than 500 wishes in 2012. For more information, contact the Foundation at (888) 773-WISH or log on to www.sfla.wish.org.

The fresh sea air, the gorgeous afternoon and the artistic contributions by Romero Britto made this a Haute event not to be missed.
