On 30 March artists, designers, fashionistas, photographers and creative souls gathered together in Dubai at an exclusive and ticketed event to raise funds for Make-A-Wish UAE .The much anticipated Chocol’art initiative featured the magic ingredients of Chocolate, Charity and Creativity in order to raise awareness and funding for children’s causes, with the goal of supporting 20 regional and international charities over the next 5 years.
A Corporate Social Responsibility brand, Chocol’art is where ‘chocolate meets art for a cause.’ An engaging and interactive experience where exhibitors from the world of fashion, design, photography and art were invited to create spontaneous, unique and original works to exhibit and auction off throughout the evening, this year’s event took inspiration from the theme of ‘Chocol’art at the movies!’
“We are incredibly excited to be bringing an original, fun and engaging new CSR initiative to the UAE’s social scene and indeed across the region. Chocol’art is a unique, concept that we hope to build as a regional and global initiative. We will create a platform for the artistic community in each host city to embrace, participate and express their creativity with through our unique yearly themes,” said Chocol’art event Founder, Mohammed Fadlallah.
The inaugural Chocol’art event took place last year in Beirut, Lebanon at Mouawad Palace in aid of the Children’s Cancer Centre of Lebanon and witnessed over eight hundred attendees.“Our events are different, fresh and most importantly generate support for children’s causes that we are passionate about through chocolate and art,” asserted Chocol’art Founder Ali Hashemi.
All proceeds from the event went to the Make-A-Wish UAE with key sponsors including MINI Cooper, Sayidaty magazine, Integrity Media, Garnier, SEPHORA, Custard Communications, Kippreport, Fustany.com, Mistile and stylendubai.com. Further Chocol’art events for 2012 are being planned in New York, Amman, Beirut, Muscat, Doha and possibly Jeddah end of the year.
