Villa Belvedere Showcase Spectacular – Olivia Hsu Decker

Villa Belvedere opened on January 31 for a fabulous Opening Night Gala with a record 600 tickets sold. As Presenting Sponsor, I hosted a champagne reception on February 6, which also saw overwhelming attendance. Over 300 guests toured the spectacular home, exploring the beautifully decorated rooms and enjoying the sparkling views. Guests also watched a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Justin Everett of Michelin-starred restaurant Murray Circle at Cavallo Point Lodge, sipped champagne and dined on the Stacy Scott Catering fine buffet supper. The night ended with dancing to the Glenn Walters Band. Belvedere has never been so festive!

The home was adorned by 20 of the top San Francisco Bay Area designers and artists, including Suzanne Tucker, David Kensington, Candace Barnes, Cecilie Starin and Stephen Suzman. Each designer transformed one area of the home into his or her own vision, making the estate as unique as it is spectacular. One of the finest homes in the world, the recently completed 15,500-square-foot Villa Belvedere is located on 1.14 waterfront acres on the San Francisco Bay with unobstructed views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Sausalito and the Bay Bridge.

The first Showcase in Belvedere since 1969, it is extremely rare to have such a glamorous event of this scale in Belvedere.

This unparalleled estate features seven bedrooms, eight full and two half baths, a three-car garage, plus space for 15-plus cars within the gated driveway and cobblestone motor court. Over 5,000 square feet of stone terraces make for the perfect place to gaze at the panoramic Bay views. A 50-foot Bisazza tile lap pool with cabana and spa are perfect for enjoying company on warm summer days. For special occasions, the home boasts a spectacular bayfront gallery ideal for hosting gatherings such as an America’s Cup viewing party.

Inside lies a fully-equipped gym with sauna and steam room, a gourmet kitchen, a luxurious master suite with his and her dressing rooms and a stateof- the-art home theatre. A temperature-controlled wine cellar and elevator for easy access to all three floors complete the luxe list of amenities.

A month-long charity event, Marin Designer Showcase guests enjoyed daily tours of the home, wine tasting parties and various corporate events and socials throughout February. I worked alongside sponsors including First Republic Bank, Cause Insurance and Stephanie Breitbard Fine Arts Gallery as well as media sponsors Haute Living, California Home & Design and Marin Magazine to make this Showcase unforgettable. Proceeds benefit the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership, a group dedicated to supporting volunteerism.

The first Showcase in Belvedere since 1969, it is extremely rare to have such a glamorous event of this scale in Belvedere. The Showcase overcame a lot of challenges—from the construction delays to the traffic logistics—but miraculously, everything worked out in the end. Bravo to developer Jeff Paster and his contractor Cello & Maudru, CEO of Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership Linda Davis, Neil Nevil and their volunteers as well as the extremely talented group of Bay Area designers. With the tireless work of this entire team, the magnificent Showcase was well-received as the best of all showcases in the San Francisco Bay Area. Villa Belvedere is offered for sale at $45 million.
