The Governors Ball: Academy Awards After-Party with Octavia Spencer, Meryl Streep, Jessica Chastain, Rooney Mara

Lights, cameras and glitter followed more than 1,500 vibrant Oscar stars and guests to the Governors Ball, the official after-party celebration of the 84th Academy Awards. This year also marked the 16th consecutive year that the esteemed chef Wolfgang Puck and his team catered the party, serving specially created dishes like the Oscar flatbreads with caviar and crème fraîche on smoked salmon and the signature cocktail, Moët & Chandon’s Red Carpet Glamour. The Governors Ball was truly the place to be that evening.

Dazzling stars sipped champagne in the dimly lit room, conversing together on low tables that complimented the contemporary jazz-age theme. Amongst the big names present at the scene were Emma Stone, Pharrell Williams, Morgan Freeman, Sandra Bullock, Milla Jovovich, Natalie Portman, Rooney Mara and Oscar host Billy Crystal.

Other A-listers celebrated the evening around the engraving station, a new concept at the Governors Ball this year. There, Oscar winners like Best Supporting Actress Octavia Spencer, waited to get their golden trophies personalized. Spencer exchanged a celebratory high-five with Michel Hazanavicius, the Academy Award-winning director of The Artist and the room also shimmered with the presence of The Iron Lady leading lady and Best Actress winner, Meryl Streep. Her golden dress sparkled as she watched special Oscar honoree James Earl Jones welcome Tony Bennett to the stage for an outstanding performance.

Other Academy Award winners present at the Governors Ball included Best Actor and star of The Artist Jean Dujardin and Best Supporting Actor Christopher Plummer.

The haute scene was all about glamour, beauty and of course, winning smiles.
