Rachel Hovnanian’s “Too Good to Be True” Art Show in Hong Kong

American artist Rachel Hovnanian presented her first solo show in Asia last week at the Cat Street Gallery in Hong Kong. The exhibition runs through April 15 and contains photographs of small sculptures from Hovnanian’s “Too Good to Be True” series, a satirical look at the pressures of marriage, beauty and domesticity.
Amongst those that attended the exhibition were many who worked in fashion, finance and the creative world, including Bartley Ingram, head of art at the local multibrand luxury retailer Joyce, award-winning American novelist Chang-rae Lee, Zhu Scott, an adviser of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival Board and Jo Black and Daniel Vaughan of Absolute Black, an eyewear company that designs and makes sunglasses and frames for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s lifestyle brand Elizabeth and James.

Hovnanian is launching her new exhibition titled “Mud Pie’ on May 2 at the Leila Heller Gallery in New York.
