Last night was the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA)’s 15th Annual Dining by Design kickoff event in NYC. Held on Manhattan’s Pier 94, where guests sipped wines from La Crema. They enjoyed food from NYC’s best food purveyors such as Buddakan and Tribeca Grill and design installations from top designers including David Rockwell, David Stark, Evette Rios, Jonathan Adler and Christopher Peacock.
Also at the event was special EFFEN Vodka Installation designed by Ricard Chai which hosted the Diffa Dining By Design’s first stand alone bar/lounge installation. Guests enjoyed specialty EFFEN Cockatils such as The EFFEN Custom Cucumber, The EFFEN Black Cherry By Design and The EFFEN Designer LOVE. Check out the recipes below.

EFFEN Custom Cucumber
2 parts EFFEN Cucumber Vodka
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
¾ parts Organic Simple Syrup or Agave Nectar
Method: In a mixing glass, muddle rosemary and citrus. Add remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a rosemary sprig with the bottom half of leaves removed.
EFFEN Black Cherry By Design
1 ½ parts EFFEN Black Cherry Vodka
¾ parts Lemon Juice
½ parts Organic Simple Syrup or Agave Nectar
3 Raspberries or Raspberry Puree
1 part Club Soda
EFFEN Designer LOVE
1 ½ parts EFFEN Vodka
2 parts Clear Apple Juice (not cloudy or unfiltered)
2 Basil Leaves
3 Mint Leaves
Method: Build ingredients in a glass tumbler over ice. Stir in leaves and lemon peel.
