Singapore’s Wanderlust Hotel has a top floor completely conceptualized by fFurious – a local design company – including a “Space” Suite outfitted with eccentric outer space design features.
Though the top floor of the hotel, called the Whimsical floor, features nine themed rooms, including “Tree,” “Bling,” “ASCII” and “Typewriter,” the “Space” Suite has become the talking point of the Wanderlust Hotel. With pitch-black walls, stuffed animal aliens, a fiber optic ceiling with stars, futuristic bubble chairs hanging from the ceiling, a lofted bed, rocket art and a freestanding tub, the suite starts at $185 per night if you’re able to get an advance rate.
Wanderlust Hotel is an experimental boutique hotel located in the Little India area of Singapore. There are four thematic levels of 29 rooms created by award-winning Singapore design agencies, each group given full creative freedom by the hotel.
The lobby level was designed by Industrial Glam by Asylum and features a “juxtaposition of the surrounding’s setting and contemporary design.”
Level 2 is titled “Eccentricity” and was created by :phunk Studio with multi-colored walls, neon lights, a rainbow corridor and an outdoor deck with a customized mosaic-tiled Jacuzzi.
Level 3 is called “Is it just Black and White” by DP Architects and features a black corridor and contrasting white rooms with Origami and Pop-Art works.
Level 4 is known as “Creature Comforts” created by fFurious. This is where the fantasy-filled rooms are located.
There is a rustic French restaurant, Cocotte, located on the ground level of the hotel. Dishes at Cocotte come in sharing portions, encouraging social interaction and communal dining.
