The 2012 Voices for Children Foundation “Be a Voice, Build a Dream” Gala at Mandarin Oriental Miami

THE 2012 VOICES FOR CHILDREN FOUNDATION “Be a Voice, Build a Dream” Gala was held on Saturday, January 14 at the Mandarin Oriental Miami. This year’s event, co-chaired by Jeff and Yolanda Berkowitz and Richard and Beth Tasca, honored South Florida philanthropists Paul and Swanee Dimare, who were presented with the esteemed Humanitarian Award.

The evening, which was sponsored by Mandarin Oriental, included silent and live auctions with unique items such as a one week internship at W Magazine, lunch with a star from the hit BRAVO television series Real Housewives of Miami, a private in-home tasting for eight people with LOUIS XIII de Rémy Martin, a role as an extra on the USA Network’s television show Burn Notice, an exclusive dinner for four with Pulitzer Prize winning American author Dave Barry and a one night stay in the Dior Suite of the St. Regis, New York. Notable guests in attendance included Christian Slater and American Idol Season 8 contestant Matt Giraud, who entertained guests with a dazzling musical performance. The event raised upwards of $600,000.
