Paris Meets Brooklyn at the Hill Café

Bid adieu to the restaurant Kush.  Restaurateurs Sal Bauta and Samuel Beket have collaborated together to create a new joint in its place on Clinton Hill in Brooklyn.  What was born from the two veterans is Hill Café, a French bistro with all the intimacies and ambience you would expect in Paris blended with the hipness you could only find in Brooklyn.

Take a break from the metropolis that is New York and cozy up to the intimate close-set tables allowing yourself to nestle up to a loved one while the amber vintage lanterns and wooden detail warm up the aura.  When the temperature rises, Hill Café opens up a large garden patio, perfect for sunny days.

You will feel like Ernest Hemingway in “A Moveable Feast” Wednesdays at Hill Café as it hosts live Jazz performances.  Just sit back and guzzle a bottle of wine and let the music take over.

The menu is fresh, featuring French and African influences with such meals as the seafoody Crab and Shrimp Fritters, North African Brochette De Crevettes and of course a mouth watering Angus Burger served with a cone of fries. To satisfy that sweet tooth, try the Banana-Apple Tarte Tatin.  If you’re a bruncher, Hill Café offers weekday brunches full of your favorites along with North African and French specials.

Hill Café is located at 17 Putnam Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238. And is open Tuesday–Thursday 5pm–12 midnight, Friday 5pm–1am, Saturday 11am-1am, and Sunday 11am–10pm. Closed Mondays. For more information, please call (718) 230-3471, visit hillcafe.net, or Like Hill Café on Facebook.
